Homer Owens, age 85, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Sunday, October 8, 1939, in Lewis County, Kentucky, to the late Artis and Tina Gilliam Owens.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilford Owens, Harold Owens and one sister, Wilma Jean Robson.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, mowing grass and spending time with his family.
Homer is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy Littler Owens; four sisters, Ruth Thompson, Louise (Gary) Sheppard, Mary (Roger) Hinton all of Mansfield, Ohio, Shirley Thompson of Arkansas, along with several nieces and nephews who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Sister Anita Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Owens Cemetery at Smokey.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Globe Funeral Chapel.
