Ms. Janet Kay Valandingham Sawyers, age 83, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at her residence.
She was born Friday, May 23, 1939, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late Homer and Madeline Waugh Valandingham .
Janet attended the First Church of Christ and she enjoyed gardening, watching Nascar, cooking, reading and coloring. She was very artistic, always decorating, and she especially loved taking care of her four legged grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four brothers, Claude Valandingham, Jimmy Blevins, Wayne Blevins, Clyde Blevins and one sister, Anna Maggard.
Janet is survived by one son, Troy Sawyers of Winchester, Kentucky; one daughter, Marquetta Flaugher and her husband, Larry of Clearwater, Florida; one brother, Ronnie Valandingham of Grayson, Kentucky, along with many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Bobby Day and Brother Keith Sergeant officiating. Burial will follow in the Biggs Hill Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 10:30 a.m. and until the service hour on Saturday,
December 3, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel Kentucky, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
