Ms. Michele Denise “Shellie” Kiser, age 63, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Thursday, August 6, 1959, in Boyd County, Kentucky to Barbara Nichols Kiser of Olive Hill, Kentucky and the late William “Bill” Kiser.
Shellie was a retired Registered Nurse. She attended the First Christian Church and she was a member of the Carter County Homemakers Club. She enjoyed quilting, making arts and crafts, taking care of her animals and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Arnold Nichols, her “Pappa Nick” and Vernon “Red” Kiser; her grandmothers, Pauline Scott Hay and Maxine Taylor Johnson and one sister, Melissa Kiser Conn.
In addition to her mother, Shellie is survived by one son, Joshua Randall Rice and his wife, Rachael of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Jussie Nichole Minor and her husband Todd of Olive Hill, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Charli Grayce Minor, Layne Samuel Minor, Judson Randall Rice, Rinley Parker Rice; one brother, Michael “Mike” Kiser and his wife Tammy of Boyd County, Kentucky; one sister Mary Anne Brown and her husband Steven of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and her lifelong friend Jada Jarrell along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Hwy US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Adam Foster and Brother Dan Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 and after 9 a.m. until the service hour, Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Josh Rice, Jamie Conn, Colten Mabry, Todd Minor, Steven Brown, Matthew Kiser and Zeb Brown will serve as pallbearers.
Layne Minor, Judson Rice and Braylon Brown will serve as honorary pallbearers.
