John Matthew Lewis, age 41, of Denton, Kentucky, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born Tuesday, January 26, 1982, in Boyd County, Kentucky, a son of James Estill and Debbie Hall Lewis of Denton, Kentucky.
John loved working on the farm with his dad. He had a passion for collecting Nike Shoes and doing scratch off lottery tickers. He loved and spoiled his favorite fur baby, Ziggy. Before he passed away he said, “I love you all and I’ll see you in Heaven.”
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Dorothy Hall; paternal grandfather, James Merl Lewis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Della Lewis of Emerson, Kentucky; one brother, James Travis Lewis of Denton, Kentucky; two sisters, Marie (Chris) Porter of Denton, Kentucky, Tammie (Mike) Marshall, of Grayson, Kentucky; a special friend and Aunt Barb Johnson; one nephew, Drew Porter; one niece, Makenzie (Cole) Sparks; two great nephews, Mason and Parker Sparks, plus a host of aunts, uncles and cousins that will all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky, with Brother Steven Keyes officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery.
Friends may visit after 10 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023, until the service hour at Grayson Funeral Home.
Ernie Hall, Chris Porter, Drew Porter, Mike Marshall, Patrick Tolliver, and Nathan Carpenter will serve as pallbearers.
Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services will be caring for all arrangements for
