John Robert Blevins, age 79, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Sunday, September 22, 1946, in Carter County, Kentucky, the son of the late Robert and Kathleen Wilson Blevins.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed traveling to different sites, camping, drinking coffee, talking to his friends and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, John Christopher Blevins, Jayson Scott Blevins; two brothers, Darrell Blevins, Rondell Blevins; three sisters, Sandra Jarvis, Brenda Hargett, Anita Porter and his best friend, David “Crockett” Blankenship.
John is survived by three sons, Joe Blevins of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Robert Blevins of Dayton, Ohio, Aaron Blevins of Loveland, Ohio; three daughters, Melissa Brewer of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cisha Rose of Louisa, Kentucky, Christina Brown of Greenup, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Blevins of Grayson, Kentucky; two sisters, Rita Blevins, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Mary Howard of West Liberty, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Donnie Walker and Brother L.A. Biggs officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2026, and after 9 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2026, until the service hour at the funeral home.
