Jimmie Maddix, age 90, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at his residence.
He was born Sunday, October 6, 1935, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Roscoe and Eva Tackett Maddix.
Jimmie enjoyed watching westerns, mowing grass, fishing with Tim, and listening to bluegrass music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Loretta Sloan Maddix; one son, Timothy Maddix; two brothers, Kenneth Dick Maddix, Roy Maddix; one sister, Juanita “Babe” Burton; one son-in-law, Doug Dyer; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Maddix and one grand-son-in-law, Jamie Pennington.
Jimmie is survived by one son, Vernon (Becky) Maddix of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two daughters, Debbie Maddix and Cathy Dyer (Billy Hall) all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Amanda Pennignton, Matthew Maddix; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Pennington, Connor Pennington; two sisters, Pauline Lowe of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Elaine Fisher of Grayson, Kentucky; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Maddix of Vine Grove, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother David Gee officiating. Burial will follow in Maddix Family Cemetery on Three Pine Road.
Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2026, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
