Larry J. Knipp, age 76, of Winchester, Kentucky, formerly of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Monday, April 24, 1950, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Arnold and Maxine Rougie Knipp.
Larry was a member of Henderson Branch Christian Holliness Church and loved going to church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and often shared Army stories with his family. He enjoyed sitting outside, gardening his fruit trees, running his dogs and spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Geraldine Middleton Knipp; five daughters, Redia (Kendall) Hall of Winchester, Kentucky, Tammy Reynolds (Marty Walker) of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Pammy (Ronnie) Whitt of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Jennifer Sylvia of Winchester, Kentucky, Angie (Cheyenne) Littleton of Morehead, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jeff Knipp of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three sister, Thressia Knipp of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Shelia (Mark) Aylesworth of New York, Lisa Knipp of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two special friends, Dola Radar and Volene Bradley, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2026, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Doctor Todd Radar and Pastor Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2026, after 9 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2026, until the service hour at the funeral home.
Chris Howard, Daniel Reynolds, Aaron Shields, Pud Beadle, Evan White and Trevor Shields will serve as pallbearers.
Jason Reynolds, J.R. Reynolds, Ronnie Whitt, Marty Walker, Kendall Hall, Jeffrey Layne, Dallas Middleton, Carlos Middleton, Marvin Sparks, Buddy Callihan, Mickee Nolen will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside by Olive Hill American Legion Post 138.
