1958-2020
Ms. Rita Roar Skaggs, age 62, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, entered into rest Saturday, August 22, 2020, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
She was born February 8, 1958, in Alliance, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Beulah Holbrook Roar.
Rita was of the Apostolic faith and enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Roar and one sister Robyn Roar.
Rita is survived by two sons, Jameson Ray Skaggs and William Jason Skaggs both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Shawna Messer (Ed) of Grayson, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three brothers, David Roar, Billy Joe Roar and Ricky Roar all of Olive Hill, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday August 27, 2020, at the Mountain Top Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Pastor Nick Barker officiating. Burial will follow in the McKinney Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday August 27, 2020, at the church.

Rita’s brothers, grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
