Mrs. Virginia Jolene Flannery DeBord, age 88, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at St. Claire Medical Center.
She was born Monday, October 12, 1934, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late William and Grace Bloomfield Flannery.
Jolene was a Christian for over 25 years and a member of Dry Branch Church of God. She worked at Smokey Valley Truck Stop for more than 20 years as a waitress. She enjoyed quilting and playing on her computer.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James L. DeBord; two sons, Tim DeBord and Eric DeBord; four brothers, Bill Flannery, Benny Flannery, Steve Flannery and Sam Flannery; three sisters, Jewell Hall, Nancy Shatzer and Jennifer Mabry.
Jolene is survived by two sons, Ernie (Teresa) DeBord of Olive Hill, Kentucky, David (Donna) DeBord of Morehead, Kentucky; two daughters in law, Cindy DeBord of Grayson, Kentucky and Tina DeBord of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two sisters, Joyce (Danny) Tackett of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Judy (Dale) Porter of Mansfield, Ohio; seven granddaughters, Stacey (Adam) Buckler, Wendy (Eric) Kilgore, Kristin (Jarrod) James, Amber Skie DeBord, Niki Adams, Grayce DeBord, and Jessica (Tom) DiMaggio; nine great grandchildren, Jacob (Shannon) Buckler, Hannah (Khyler) Holderbaum, Kaylee Kilgore, Andrew Buckler, Kinzie Kilgore, America Daniels, Xander Daniels, Rhianna Worthington, and Xander Campbell and one great great granddaughter, Charlotte Anne Buckler.
Graveside services will be held 12 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the Tick Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Clifford “Tippy” Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Tick Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m, on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Globe Funeral Chapel Kentucky, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Ernie DeBord, David DeBord, Adam Buckler, Eric Kilgore, Jarrod James, Jacob Buckler and Andrew Buckler will serve as pallbearers.
