On March 7, 2022 William Ernest Knipp, Jr. entered peacefully into his heavenly home surrounded by his loving family.
Junior was born Thursday January 28, 1937 in Grahn, Kentucky to the late Ernest and Olive Clay Knipp.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son Larry Bart Knipp, one grandson, Bryon Knipp, one brother Lester Eugene “Gene” Knipp and one infant brother, John Knipp.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Yvonne Blevins Knipp; three sons David (Trina) Knipp, Jason Knipp both of Olive Hill and Greg Blevins of Grahn, Kentucky; two daughters Kimberly (Michael) Taylor of North Carolina and Melisa Fite of Grahn, Kentucky. Seven grandchildren; Andrew, Adam, Jason William, Jaclyn, Anna, Aaron and Amber; seven great grandchildren, Alex Jacey, Matthew, Braleigh, Payton, Virginia and Isaac.
Junior spent his young life employed by C and O Railroad. He also worked as an EMT for Carter County Ambulance Service, and Oney Funeral Home for several years.
Junior was a mason for 46 years and Master of Ceremony of the Olive Hill Lodge #629
Junior also spent his time playing bluegrass music and was a talented musician, he started the band Bluegrass Favorites with family members and enjoyed playing with his buddies like Kermit Richmond and Darvin Sturgill
He enjoyed taking trips to the Smoky Mountains, attending shows at Renfro Valley and bluegrass festivals with his wife, Yvonne, as well as going camping and listening to the Cincinnati Reds on his hand held radio. He was loved and will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel at 17277 West US Hwy 60 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother James Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 by Olive Hill Masonic Lodge #629.
David Knipp, Jason Knipp, Jason William Knipp, Michael Taylor, Matthew Knipp and Eddie Mullins will serve as pallbearers. Adam Hamdan will serve as honorary pallbearer.
