I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge “THANK YOU!“ to those responsible for The Olive Hill Area Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas at the Depot, “A Warming Christmas.”
We were able to serve over 400 children and their families! Booths were set up handing out gloves, toboggans, socks, toys, hot chocolate, popcorn, cookies, sweatshirts, books, candy, and more. It was absolutely amazing to see big smiles and hear the laughter and excitement in everyone’s voices. Mostly, it was a blessing to see our community come together so strongly to give to others.
Thank you to those who set up booths: Commercial Bank of Grayson, First National Bank, Scenic Hill Realty, The Galaxy Project, McDonald’s, Frontier Housing, The Cosmic Athletic Center, Empower Athletics, The Girl Scouts, Porter Tire Center, Olive Hill Historical Society, Carter County Public Library, Olive Hill Elementary Family Resource Center, Trinity Sisters Design, and Jenkie’s Journey (Santa’s workshop was courtesy of the Olive Hill Area Chamber of Commerce).
I also want to say thank you to those who donated: The Gypsy Queens, Zornes Home Improvement, Donny Owens Excavating & Electrical, Dustin Howard for Carter County Judge Executive, Eddie & Angela Fultz, Hazel Messer, James Do It Best Hardware, and Tygart Creek Elementary Family Resource Center.
Big shout out to The Olive Hill Fire Department, Grayson Fire Department, Buddy the Elf, The Grinch, The Griswolds, The Easter Bunny, and Santa & his main elf who absolutely made the night so much fun for all! Also, thank you to The City of Olive Hilland Maintenance Department for your help as well!
I also want to thank Donny Owens Jr, Kyle Owens, and Dalton Conley who came and repaired Santa’s Workshop from wind damage the morning of the event. You guys were lifesavers!
Lastly, THANK YOU TO ALL VOLUNTEERS who made this event possible. Without you, we could not do what we do!
