SOMERSET, KENTUCKY — Christian music duo Caleb & John will make their first appearance at The Center for Rural Development’s Cornelia Dozier Cooper Theatre on Sunday, September 13, 2026. A Kentucky-based worship band, People of the Earth will open the evening of music.
With a No. 1 Christian radio hit under their belt (“Somebody Like Me”), two K-LOVE Fan Award nominations, and two viral Facebook videos, this high-energy duo is keeping the momentum going with its newest single, “Finished,” an upbeat, anthemic reminder that no matter what life looks like, God isn’t done yet.
The duo came to music through very different paths. Caleb, a pastor’s son and classically trained musician, grew up listening to Christian radio. John, one of six children and the only boy, taught himself guitar and piano through YouTube videos and developed a gritty, roots-inspired sound. While touring and performing with artists including Sam Hunt, CAIN, Katy Nichole, and Anne Wilson, the two were introduced by a mutual friend. What began as a casual jam session quickly evolved into a creative partnership that brought out the best in both musicians.
Their blend of Caleb’s pop sensibilities and John’s raw edge has created a signature sound that is joyful, bold, and rooted in faith. Their debut single, “Hallelujah Feeling,” reached No. 3 on the Christian charts and introduced listeners to their vibrant style. It was “Somebody Like Me,” featuring CAIN, however, that struck an even deeper chord, earning the duo its first No. 1 Christian radio hit and introducing its music to a rapidly growing fan base.
With “Finished,” Caleb & John continue their mission of spreading hope. The song is an anthem for anyone who has felt like giving up—a declaration that even when we feel broken, God is still writing our story.
“We want our music to remind people that God isn’t finished with them,” Caleb says. “We’ve both lived that truth. It’s personal.”
Two different backgrounds. One unified message. Caleb & John are just getting started, and the joy is contagious.
The evening opening performance will be People of the Earth, a Kentucky-based worship group that released its debut album, We Are People of the Earth, in 2015 and has since toured nationwide at camps, conferences, and festivals. The group followed that release with the 2017 EP In All Things, which led to an exclusive worldwide distribution deal with Capitol Christian Music Group in 2018.
The band has amassed more than 10 million streams and has become a featured artist on many of the most influential Christian and worship playlists across streaming platforms. Comprised of Somerset natives Dustin Fenison, Jorge Lopez Jr., Steve Hampton, Josh Lopez, Rhyan Shirley, and Jason Richard, the group’s sound is influenced by artists including Toto, Duran Duran, and 1980s pop music.
Dustin Fenison summarizes the heart behind the band’s vision:
“We celebrate the gospel, and then we are healed again by it. Then we celebrate it some more. It’s in this cycle that the songs on this project were born. We hope listeners experience this in their own lives. Further, we pray people hear the gospel message woven throughout these songs and that it encourages and strengthens them in the Lord.”
