Dance with Hope Studio had their seventh annual recital this past weekend where they showcased their talents, told stories with their dances, and recognized their eighth grade dancers.
This year’s recital theme was fairy tales and was called “Tales as Old as Time,” which told the story of different fairy tales. Here you could see Goldilocks meet the three bears, Little Red Riding Hood realize her grandmother was actually a wolf, the ugly duckling turn into a swan, and Maleficent and Aurora become friends.
After the first act, studio owner Rhiannon Greer recognized the performing team which includes 14 dancers who are actively at the studio 3-4 times a week learning new techniques, competing at competitions, and some even helping out around the studio.
Greer also recognized the studios three eighth graders, Izzy Carter, Cailynn Bush, and Lola Frasier. Greer complimented all three for all their hard work and effort that they put forth every day at practices and said that all three have been there since the studio first opened. After intermission, the rest of the recital showcased the dancers talents in styles other than ballet. They performed different styles of dance – like jazz, lyrical, and tap – to all sorts of different songs ranging from slow and heartfelt like “Amen” to upbeat songs like “The Man.” Each dance was met with applause and cheers as the dancers gave it their all whether it was a solo, duet, or group dance.
“We are just so extremely thankful to be able to have another year of dance, another recital on stage all together,” said Greer, when asked her thoughts on this year’s recital. “This was our seventh year, and we can’t wait for more.”
