H.E.L.P. and CHIPs partner to assist families

The H.E.L.P. charity group that provides medical equipment and supplies has partnered with the Carter County Home Improvement Projects, Inc. (CHIPs) to aid local families with maintenance and repairs to their homes this summer. CHIPs sponsored by supplying building materials to assist in the projects. Labor was provided by the visiting team of Next Step Ministries with the guidance of local H.E.L.P. volunteers. The New Hope Church hosted the visiting team. The follow-up repairs and skilled labor projects will be made during the annual visit of the Canton, Massachusetts parish youth and young adult team who have sent volunteers to Carter and Elliott counties for more than twenty-five years. Together these groups have made life-long friends while improving the quality of life for area residents.

Each partnering organization is grateful to the many Carter Countians who have helped in the summer home improvement projects.
