Willard hosts egg hunt

Staff Report
Carter County Times

The Willard community held their Sixth Annual Community Egg Hunt on April 9, hosted by American Legion Willard Post 342, The Book Depot, Willard Church of Christ, Willard Missionary Baptist Church, Willard Wesleyan Church, Cherokee Freewill Baptist Church, and Maranatha Bible Church. Webbville Volunteer Fire Department was also on hand with the engine and Sparky, The Easter Bunny was there for photos; new books, stuffed animals, and prizes were given out to every child who attended. More than 200 people showed up for the event which organizers described as “a windy day where we chased Easter baskets across the field and totes of empty egg crates along the shelter.” Hot dogs and cookies were served for lunch, with everything provided free of charge to attendees. “It was a great turnout and we look forward to next year’s event!” organizers said.
