Confusion Solution
There are a few areas in our home where we can save some space with just a few changes following a shopping spree. After bringing home items like paper towels, toilet paper, or boxed food, store them without their packaging. Not only is it unnecessary to display their brand, it will save you space when putting them away. For instance, the packaging on paper towels, or toilet paper only makes it more difficult to use when needed. Removing the wrapping will make it easier for storing in smaller spaces or in their appropriate receptacles.
In the kitchen, boxes take up more space than you may think. There are space saving containers for cereal, dry soups, water packets, and pretty much any dry food. Even in the fridge, packaging makes it a nuisance to open if you only need one and they take up more space.
Of course there are many things that need their boxes like toys, puzzles, and small items that need to be contained. There’s no need to transfer items that are already saving space. Paper clips, staples, and nails already in package are easy to store, however, if you want to have them easier to access open up the top of the boxes or go ahead and transfer them into small containers.
Take advantage of that moment when you first bring items home and save yourself time and space by putting them away without the waste. Just be cautious of what containers you buy; you want to save space, not add more clutter.
P.S. When buying containers or items that are labeled on the outside, remove those labels. It’s just a simple way to de-industrialize your home.
It’s as simple as that!
