Ask Daryl – Your Professional Organizer: Space savers

Confusion Solution

We all have way too many clothes and not enough closets or drawer space to hold them. Well, there are some solutions.

  1. Instead of folding try rolling. For items like t-shirts, pajamas, scarves, and under garments, try
rolling them up. They will be easier to find and take up less drawer space.
  2. Fold bras in half with the sides inside the cups. Then place them overlapping each other,
  3. Use closet shelves for seasonal or seldom used attire. Fold and store in containers with lids
and mark with what is inside.
  4. Separate casual pants from dress ones. Layer two or three on regular hangers or use multi
    clip pants hangers.
  5. Roll socks flat in pairs, not in a ball.
  6. Install hooks on closet walls for belts and bags.
While you are putting things away, ask yourself if there are things you can donate. That will save you tons of space.
    It’s as simple as that!
