The Carter County Board of Education has announced the recipients of its 2023 Professional Learning Leader of Excellence Award.
The annual Teacher-Leader of Excellence Award recognizes educators who best exemplify the qualities that distinguish teachers and mentors to generations of Carter County students. These include challenging and inspiring teaching in and out of the classroom; and active engagement of students in the process of learning, discovery and leadership; as well as caring and mentoring to motivate students and faculty to achieve their highest aspirations.
Based on a teacher’s involvement in professional learning and leadership, they work toward a silver or gold level in the Leaders of Excellence program.
Teachers meeting these requirements were recognized at special Teacher Leader Ceremonies held last week.
