Grace Irene “Penny” McQueen Newland, age 45, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Penny was born December12, 1980, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jimmy O’Neal and Carol Hammonds McQueen.
She loved serving the Lord and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by one sister, Rebecca Winn and one brother-in-law, Patrick Newland.
She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, James Newland; one son, Jimmy (Carlea) McQueen of Grayson, Kentucky; one daughter, Grace (R.J.) Willoughby of Westwood, Kentucky; three sisters, Teresa Howard of Portsmouth, Ohio, Aurora (Loren) Cremeans of Louisiana, Amanda Weatherford of Olive Hill, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 12, noon, Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Crane Creek Baptist Church, with Brother Dave Price and Brother Andy Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Smith-Claxton Cemetery on Crane Creek.
Friends may visit after 11 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2026, until the service hour at Smith-Claxton Cemetery.
