Mrs. Carolyn Sue Cross Porter, age 81, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 26, 2023, at St. Claire Medical Center, Morehead, Kentucky surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 23, 1942, in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Eugene V. and Toni Flannery Cross.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Rae Cross Justice and Marcella Cross.
Sue was a member of Olive Hill Wesleyan Church; she was on the Board of Directors and served as Treasurer for Shoppes on the Hill. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, decorating and shopping for Kyndal.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, John Paul Porter; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela Lou and Robert Brooks of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one granddaughter and her husband, Kelli Lynn and Joshua Collins; one great granddaughter, Kyndal June Collins; two nephews and their spouses, Terry Eugene and Lisa Justice, Jeffrey Allen and Alaina Justice; great nieces, Emily, Madeline, Chloe and a great nephew, Conor.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Terry Dean and Brother Clyde Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Flannery Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2023, and after 9 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023 until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Terry Eugene Justice, Jeffrey Allen Justice, Joshua Jerell Collins, Christopher Dean, Conor Justice and Elijah Johnson will serve as pallbearers.
Robert Brooks, Donnie Waddell and Douglas Cross will serve as honorary pallbearers.
