David Lee Counts, 65, of Grayson went to be with his Lord Tuesday, November 30, 2021. David was born April 20, 1956 in Ashland, KY a son of the late Norman and Ina Lewis Counts.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hattie “Pat” Slone Counts; and a brother, Richard Counts. David worked as a laborer with Ohio Laborers Union and Laborers Local 189. David was a talented musician; and at the age of 11, Sam Terry introduced David to his love of playing the banjo. David had a unique love of life and the people he shared it with.
David is survived by three sons, Adam Davis of Rush, Tony (Becky) Kintigos and Nick (Theresa) Kintigos both of Greenup; a daughter, Nicole (Joseph) Holderby of Huntington, WV; a brother, Michael (Ginger) Counts of Morristown, TN; two sisters, Linda (Rees) Marshall of Georgetown and Lisa (J.C.) Caudill of Ashland; a sister-in-law, Shelia Counts-American Horse of Flatwoods; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and extended family who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Delmar Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 1 pm Sunday until the service hour.
