Mr. Zulus Henry Prince, Jr., age 92, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023, in Elliott County, Kentucky.
He was born Friday, June 10, 1931, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Zulus Henry Prince, Sr. and Marie Carroll Prince.
Respects to a wonderful man, Zulus Prince;
It is hard to find a man of Zulus’ level of success and yet to be so down to earth with a massive sense of humor and eagerness to awaken and work so hard everyday.
In August 1960, Zulus incorporated a business to launch a dream. Successfully for 34 years, he did just that before retirement, but, that was not the ending point for him. Because of his love for work, many more endeavor’s continued to come his way. During his 62 years of marriage, however, he never gave up, always thinking of what could be next and how to accomplish it in a “BIG” way.
Zulus never forgot his roots, always reminiscing, sharing story after story. Regardless of how busy or preoccupied he may have been, he would remind his family of his upbringing and he instilled it into his children. As a family, ones most precious possession is considered to be “our way of life”, and for Zulus, it was just that. He loved his family deeply, telling them every time he saw them how much he loves them. Never, not once when seeing his children, did he miss giving his daughter a hug, kiss and “I Love You” as well as with his son’s a hug, hand shake, and “I Love You’.
Zulus was definitely the “Monarch” of the Prince Family. He was the foundation, cornerstone and backbone. Anyone who knew them knew, as a family, they fought hard, due to their strong personalities and opinions of which he instilled in them, but as a family they loved far harder and more intensely.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Wilma Lee Ison Prince; two sons, Christopher S. Prince and his wife, Kim of Grayson, Kentucky and Dr. Marc S. Prince of Ashland, Kentucky; one daughter, Marrialana Prince and her husband, Timothy C. Stumbo of Lexington, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Chanel (Ryan) Kitchen of Grayson, Kentucky, Hunter S. Prince of Lexington, Kentucky, Laken N. Prince of Lexington, Kentucky, Christiaan Marrialana Prince of Lexington, Christopher Zulus Prince of Cincinnati, Ohio; three great grandchildren, Easton, Desmond and Gentri Kitchen all of Grayson, Kentucky; two sisters, Mildred Brewer and Prudie Moore, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
