The East Carter tennis teams went undefeated on Friday in all of their singles and doubles matches to take home wins against Morgan County for both the boys and the girls.
The Lady Raiders won all four of their matches, with Maria Hayes triumphing over Morgan’s Terra Wireman in singles action, 8-0, and Kaitlyn Conley beating Brianna Lewis 6-0. In doubles action East Carter’s Emma Moudy and Aliya Lewis beat Kaleigh Murphy and Cora Beth Hammond, 8-0, and Audrey Tackett and Andrea Ferguson beat Morgan County’s Akyla Fannin and Isabella Endicott, 6-0.
This 4-0 win gives the Lady Raiders a win/loss record of 3-1 for the season, a rebound after taking their first loss against Ashland last week.
The boys team bounced back from their loss to Ashland last week too, with their win against Morgan County giving them a 2-2 season so far.
The East Carter boys won all six of their matches, with Wilson Tomaselli, Lane Moudy, Tanner Osborne, and Brant Harris winning in singles competition and Tomaselli and Osborne pairing up to beat Liam Morgan and Eric Collins, 6-4, and Moudy and Harris winning 6-1 against Trent Daniel and Robbie Johnson.
In the singles competition Tomaselli beat Morgan, 6-4, while Moudy held Daniel scoreless for a 6-0 win. Osborne and Harris held their opponents scoreless as well, each taking home their own 6-0 win, with Osborne beating Collins and Harris defeating Johnson.
