In Tuesday’s EKC Tennis Tournament at Morehead State University, both the boys and the girls team had big winners.
In girls singles Maria Hayes had a huge day. Hayes Beat Anna Derscha (Russell) 8 – 0 in the 1st round. She then beat Callie Oney (West Carter) 8 – 0 in the semi-finals. She then won her third Singles Championship in a row by defeating Anna White (Russell) 6 – 2, 6 – 3.
In boys singles number one Lane Moudy defeated Brayden Sturgill (West Carter) 8 – 0, but then lost to Chris Gray (Rowan Co.) 8 – 0.
In doubles, the boys Tanner Osborne & Wilson Tomaselli beat Wolfe & Fuston (West Carter) 8 – 0, then lost to Cassity & Whitlock (Russell) 8 – 2 in the semi-finals.
