To the editor and the community;
I would like to take this time to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the Soldier Lodge car show. We had a great turn out; around 40 cars. The weather was perfect. All in all it was a good day.
We couldn’t have done it without the help of our volunteers, though.
There are several people that I would like to personally thank, beginning with William Gilliam, Nathan Hall and Mike Lowe on being the judges for the car show. They took time out of their Saturday to personally look at each and every car and selected the winner for best in show.
Also, Julie Gilliam and Leslie Stevens, the ladies in the kitchen that worked hard selling the concessions. And to all the lodge members that helped make the day possible.
Thank yous go out as well to Halderman Community Center for allowing us to use your facilities; and to the businesses for their donations Dutch’s Chevy Ford, Eagle Chevrolet, Olive Hill Auto Parts, and Unique Boutique.
Thank you to Empower Athletics and West Carter Middle School Basketball team for being a part of our car show too.
And, finally, thanks to all of you for coming out to see the show and support us.
We hope to continue this next year and that it will be bigger and better.
