Grayson Gallery & Art Center
The Grayson Gallery & Art Center, Inc. (GGAC) volunteers and GGAC Board will host a special “closing reception” for artists and the public on Friday, May 29 with another look at the annual Celebrate the Earth 2026 art show and sale, still on display from April. This themed-art exhibition featured works in recognition of Earth Day for the non-profit arts organization’s monthly Final Fridays event. These events are always free to visitors, though donations are accepted at the door and tips for the musicians are encouraged. The event is open from 6 ā 9 pm, at the Grayson Gallery, 301 East Third Street in Grayson.
More than 75 original pieces of artwork by creatives from across the region are on display. It’s also the gallery’s celebration of 15 years in operation as an organization. The Gallery was founded on May 27, 2011 and 15 years later itās still going strong.
As an extra-special treat creative pieces in many genres, created by the participants in the GGAC’s “Arts for All Kentucky” grant project. These works will have an area of their own and include artwork by the Carter County Special Olympics’ artists.
Live music will be presented by the “Tri-State Rock Academy.ā As Jamie Lima, the group’s leader, explained, “Tri-State Rock Academy is the region’s premier performance-based music education program for young rockers ages 10-17.ā
āA few of our students will be portraying iconic music performers and sharing fun facts about them, wax museum style, in between sets on May 29,ā Lima added. āWeāll have Dolly and Reba and maybe Michael Jackson!ā
Trevor Litteral will be handling sound and stage.
An announcements and awards ceremony will take place approximately midway through the festivities and then the band will be back on the GGAC stage right up until closing time. During this portion of the evening, one $50.00 cash award, and a blue ribbon, will be handed out for People’s Choice (by popular vote by the visitors in attendance).
Refreshments, provided by Catering by Sheila Marie, will be available as well.
Coming up at the GGAC will be Pride in the Arts for June’s theme, with a call for artists to be sent soon, and a special “patriotic-themed” show in celebration of our country’s 250 year birthday will take place in July. August will bring two outstanding and award-winning photographers together for an all-photography exhibit by Laura Moul and Amy Rice, with live music by the band Blue Sky.
