GRAYSON – Jerrel Boyer, DO, is pleased to announce the association of Jon Walz, DO, board certified family physician, with Fresh Start Health Centers. He will be seeing patients in the clinic’s locations at 212 E. 3rd St. Grayson, KY 41143 and 336 29th St. Ste. 203, Ashland, KY 41101.
“I am very excited to welcome Dr. Walz to our practice”, said Jerrel Boyer. “He provides a great blend of 45 years clinical experience and advanced education with a life-long passion for community-based, holistic care. And I hold the fact that he is a 30 year Veteran of the US Air Force in high regard. Dr. Walz will be an active member of the communities where he works. For starters, he will be at our education and free screening booth at the Longest Day of Play on Tuesday, June 21 at Central Park in Ashland and at Memory Days on Main Street in Grayson on May 26th and 27th.
Dr. Walz received his Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine located in Kirksville, MO. He completed his family medicine residency at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and served overseas assignments in the United Kingdom, Montana, and Japan. As an osteopathic medicine physician, he is trained in the mind, body, and spirit connection and as these elements impact a patient’s health. Dr Walz says; “I strive to provide empathetic and non-judgmental care that is focused on education and empowers individuals and their families to become active decision-makers in their own care”. Dr. Walz has completed advanced training through his membership in the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is licensed to treat substance use disorders with available behavioral and medication assisted treatments (MAT).
