ASHLAND – UK King’s Daughters invites the community to tour the Ground Floor Procedure
Suites featuring Endoscopy, Urology and Bronchoscopy from 2-5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 5 at
the Ashland campus. This new area represents a $38 million investment in patient care.
The suites will be open for scheduled patients beginning Tuesday, Aug. 11. The 43,000-square
foot area (roughly the size of 11 tennis courts) was designed at the time of the construction of
the new Main Entrance, Emergency and Imaging departments, which opened in May 2025. It
will allow each service to expand and conduct procedures in a cutting-edge treatment
environment.
Highlights include:
Endoscopy: 8 procedure rooms
- Separate Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) room
- Availability of special procedures including pill cams, fibro scans and esophageal manometry
(swallowing studies)
Urology: 7 procedure rooms - A dedicated cystoscopy suite for treatment of bladder stones
Bronchoscopy: - Dedicated space to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, including advanced robotic
procedures
Pre-Op/Recovery Area: - Shared space for greater efficiency
- 18 pre-operative bays including 2 isolation areas for both patient and staff safety
- 12 post-operative recovery bays
Other Features: - Large dedicated Central Sterile equipment area
- Waiting area with seating for 100 with natural lighting from a grand staircase
Guests should arrive at the Main Entrance at 2301 Central Ave. Parking will be available at
22nd Street and Central Avenue and alongside the Outpatient Services Center on Central
between 23rd and 24th Streets. Guests who park elsewhere on campus can utilize the free shuttle
service and be dropped off at the Main Entrance.
