Allen (Al) Jeffery Vaughn, age 65, of Grayson, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at King’s Daughter’s Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was born September 16, 1956 in Ironton, Ohio a son of the late Dovie Tolliver Wells.
Al worked as a custodian for the Carter County School system for the past 10 years, most recently serving as a member of the staff at Heritage Elementary School for the past 9 years. He also worked part-time for Johnny’s Pizza of Grayson. He was a dedicated worker and always strived to give his best effort at any task.
An avid “collector”, Al enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets. He also loved doing things for others. Nothing made him happier than helping someone else or bringing smiles to the faces of the students he served. Al was truly a friend to everyone.
Allen is survived by one son, Alex Vaughn of Fresno, California; one daughter, Michelle Vaughn; his step father, Calvin Wells of Grayson, Kentucky.
Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Grayson, Kentucky is caring for the final arrangements for Mr. Allen Jeffery Vaughn. At the family’s request, there will be no funeral services. However, the staff of Heritage Elementary and Johnny’s Pizza will be hosting a celebration of Al’s life at Heritage Elementary School on Monday, July 25th, at 11:00 a.m. Members of the public may pay their respects before the service from 9:00-11:00a.m.
