Anna Lee Davis

1933-2023

In Carter County Kentucky at Gregorville on July 1* 1933, she opened her eyes to this world. Her parents, James Fleming Elliott and Betty Ethel Everman Elliott decided to name her Anna Lee.

She was frail and cold so Grandma Everman held her in her hands in the oven to keep her warm during the first days of her existence.

She was a beautiful child with big blue eyes and wispy hair. She was as sweet as the morning dew on the roses.

All of her life she helped many people, being so intelligent, caring, compassionate and loving.

She left KY and joined the military. She was a stewardess on planes and she settled in San Antonio, Texas. She met her husband Joseph Davis, a major in the Air Force and a Bomber Pilot. They moved to California where she worked as a Secretary for 13 Engineers at Litton Industries in Beverly Hills and then retired as a Secretary for Hughes Aircraft. They moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona after retirement.

She opened her eyes to another world on February 18, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Davis, brothers William Allen Elliott, Samuel Hopkins Elliott, James (Buster) Paul Elliott, mother Betty Ethel Everman and father James Fleming Elliott.

She is survived by two brothers, Lowell Thomas Elliott and his wife Donna Fleming Elliott, and Douglas Elliott of Grayson and a sister, Ruth Ellen Elliott Starr of Grayson. She left a multitude of friends, cousins and family who mourn her loss. A graveside service will be at 11 am, Friday February 24, 2023 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with military honors conducted by the US Air Force and AML Kenova Post 93.

God knew her before she came here and he will certainly know her after. She is safely in the arms of Jesus, held like a mother holds her babe.
