Barbara Ellen “Bobbie” Pennington Boggs Knisley, age 77, of Webbville, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Born February 26, 1946, in Carter County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Earl Wayne Pennington and Nancy Ellen Tackett Pennington. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Arthur Woodrow Pennington, Ercel Pennington, Billy Joe Pennington, Charles Pennington, and Murl Ray Pennington; six sisters, infant Stella Faye Stratton, Pauline Marshall, Helen Louise Griffith, Christine Pennington, and Marjorie Hensley; and one step grandson, Christopher Knisley.
Her husband of 20 years, Donald Richard Knisley, preceded her in death on August 7, 2019.
Bobbie is survived by one son, Kenny Boggs of Huntington, West Virgina; one step son, Chad Knisley (Maria) of Washington; and one step daughter, Tanya Knisley of New Carlisle, Ohio; one sister, Mary Karen Porter of Lawrence County, Kentucky; one grandson, Adam Boggs of Columbus, Ohio; nine step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; a special niece, Connie Marshall; as well as a host of nieces and nephews extended family, and many friends.
Bobbie retired as an executive housekeeper at the Hope Hotel in Dayton, Ohio. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and feeding the hungry with her sister Mary Karen in Ashland. She will be greatly missed for her love and kindness to all who knew her.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church, 146 Kentucky Highway 3298, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Pastor Gary Sparks and Brother David Boggs officiating. A private burial will take place at the New Carlisle Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
