Mr. Ermal Wilson Maggard, age 85, of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Monday, February 14, 1938, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late John W. And Lena Frazier Maggard.
In his early years, he attended Olive Hill Wesleyan Church and for the past few years, he attended Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church. Wilson and his wife, Linda worked with many people throughout the years to help them find homes for their families. He enjoyed going to church, visiting with family and he loved family dinners.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Terry Maggard; one granddaughter, Heather Maggard and one sister, Audrey Blankenship.
Wilson is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Layne Maggard; one daughter, Tonya (Bill) Nutter of Seminole, Florida; one daughter in law, Penny Maggard of Olive Hill, Kentucky; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and his sisters in law and brother in law; special care taker, Freida Rivers, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Allen Wells and Brother Gary Sparks officiating. Entombment will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 24, 2023, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Bryan Irland, Scott Molton, Cameron Molton, J.T. Staton, George Molton, Roger Layne and Tim Molton will serve as pallbearers.
Wilson’s church friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
