Mr. Billy Lloyd “Peanut” Stephens, age 82, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at his residence.
He was born Thursday, November 30, 1939, in Carter County to the late Glen Arlen and Sarah Ellen Tabor Stephens.
Billy is a member of God’s Family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from AK Steel with 35 years of service where he worked as a crane operator . He was a board member of Olive Hill Historical Society and served on the Olive Hill planning and zoning committee. He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle with his friends and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, one granddaughter, Kelsey Sturgill; three brothers, Glenwood Stephens, Frank Stephens, George Stephens and one infant sister.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Ellen Butler Stephens; three daughters, Cheryl (Andy) Reber of Morehead, Kentucky, Angie (Darrell) Sturgill of Georgetown, Kentucky, Sheila Stephens (fiance’ Keith Music); one granddaughter, Darla Nicole Worden; two great grandchildren, Avery Worden, Oliver Stevens, along with many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Pastor Joe Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2022 until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel, Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
Bill Callihan, Danny Lowe and Grady Lowe will serve as honorary pallbearers.
