Bobby Ray Easterling, age 88, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at UK-St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Saturday, May 9, 1936, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late John and Lucy Meade Easterling.
Bobby was a member of Upper Tygart Freewill Baptist Church and loved going to church. He enjoyed cutting wood and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Robert Wayne Reynolds; three brothers, Johnny Easterling Jr., Billy Easterling, James Easterling; six sisters, Opal Stevens, Geneva Bryant, Mary Debord, Kate Hedge, Phyllis Easterling and Virginia Easterling
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rita Roe Easterling; one son, Ronnie (Lynn) Easterling; two daughters, Regina Reynolds, Connie (Larry) Furnish all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; 8 grandchildren, Megan (Brian) Sammons, Amber Reynolds, Cassie Easterling, Stacey (Josh) Dyer, Bonita Easterling, Ashley (Seth) Conn, Chandler (Hannah) Easterling, Ethan Easterling; 5 great-grandchildren, Dezirae Patton, Destinee Sammons, Noah Pennington Marcus Pennington and Xavier Easterling; one brother Gary (Phyllis) Easterling; two sisters, Joyce Jones, Judy Conn all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; a very special friend, Eugene “Gene” Rayburn, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him. Bobby always told everyone “he was going home”and now he is home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Ronnie Easterling, Brother Steven Mabry and Brother Phillip Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Easterling Debord Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. unitl 8 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025 and after 9 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Brian Sammons, Josh Dyer, Chandler Easterling, Ethan Easterling, Wendell Logan, Mike Bryant will serve as pallbearers.
A host of family and friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
