Charles Vernon Crisp, Sr., 88, of Grayson went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at the Carter Nursing and Rehab Center. Charlie was born August 13, 1936 in Willard, KY a son of the late, Charlie Crisp and Madge Sergent Kibbey. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kevin Crisp II and Laken Salyers; and an infant brother. Charlie was a member of Wilson Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Charlie graduated from Hitchins High School; and went on to work for Wayne Supply for over 20 years. He later worked and was the owner/operator of Hobert’s Pizza in Greenup for over 15 years and delivered pharmaceuticals until the age of 83. Charlie was an avid UK fans; enjoyed running, having completed 3 10K races; and enjoyed fishing and bowling. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Wanda L. Crisp; two sons, Charles (Alyssa) Crisp, Jr. of FL and Kevin (Cindy) Crisp of Grayson; two daughters, Libby (Van) Stephens and Rita (Luke) Simms both of Grayson; a step-son, Mark (Pam) Kennard of Worthington; a step-daughter, Kimberly (Steve) Abbott of Grayson; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Butch Gollihue, Josh Riggs and Lisa Fisher; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn his passing. Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Joed Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Crisp Cemetery off EK Mines Branch Road.
