Claudia Jean Erwin Blevins, age 71, of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Wednesday, February 27, 1952, in Ashland, Kentucky a daughter of Claude Ennis and Olive Kiser Erwin.
Claudia’s passion was her children and grandchildren. There was nothing she wouldn’t do to put a smile on their faces, from fixing their favorite food to hosting their families and friends at her home. Claudia’s hobbies included spending time with her family and friends, shopping, and decorating. She loved to decorate her home for seasons and holidays. She was especially famous for her Christmas trees!
Claudia was a teacher in the Carter County School System for 35 years and a substitute teacher for another 12 years after retirement. She leaves behind countless former students who fondly remember her caring ways and the life skills she taught them.
Claudia is survived by her husband of 26 years, Randy Blevins; one son, Will Sartaine of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Carie (Ryan) Tomolonis of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three granchildren, Trevor Callahan, Taylor Callahan and Abigail Sartaine; one brother, Danny Thomas (Susan) Erwin of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one sister, Connie (John) Hillman of Olive Hill, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, and after 9 a.m., Sunday, June 25, 2023, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Danny Erwin, Jr., Trevor Callahan, Ryan Tomolonis, Rick Callahan and Jonathon Stevens will serve as pallbearers.
John Hillman and Edward C. Porter will serve as honorary pallbearers.
