Mr. Donnie Ray Tackett, age 76, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 22, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Saturday, March 15, 1947, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Rufus Arnold and Maxine Jones Tackett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, William Barker, Arther Wagoner, Bobby Gene Parish; one sister-in-law, Fredia Justice Tackett; father and mother-in-law, Coy and Margie Holbrook Parish.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Janet Faye Parish Tackett; one son Christopher Don (Kelly) Tackett of Morehead, Kentucky; three daughters, Carmen Sue Hall (Ronald Fleming) of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Cherie Lou (Scott) Greisheimer of Ontario, Ohio, Amber Marie (John) Johnson of Elliott County, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Rodney Allen Hall (Heather Kinster), Brittany Bayer (Mike), Amanda Hall (Eric), Andrew Greisheimer (Emily), Kayla Hall (Justin Mabry), Jordan Greisheimer (Krista), Bailey Irvine (Josh), Chyanna Howard (Ty), MaClella Rae Tackett; twenty great grandchildren, Hayden Hall, Carter Hall, Cami Hall, Logan Simmons, Elijah Bowman, MaKenna Kilgore, Tyson Hall, Zack Howard, Ellie Bayer, Karsyn Simmons, Gracie Irvine, Canaan Hall, Nora Bayer, Saylor Mabry, Maddy Johnson, Lucy Bayer, Claire Johnson, Rowan Greisheimer, Arlo Greisheimer, Aurora Mabry; one brother, Eddie Arnold Tackett (Teresa Blevins) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one sister, Rita Lynn Tackett of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three sisters-in-law, Sara Reanie Parrish of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Shelby Barker of Galion, Ohio, Shirley (Phil) Buchanan of Ontario, Ohio, along with many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Jay Stevens and Brother Elijah Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery on Mitchell Ridge in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2023 and after 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2023 until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Chris Tackett, Rodney Hall, Andrew Greisheimer, Jordan Greisheimer, Hayden Hall, Carter Hall, Logan Simmons, Herman Conn will serve as pallbearers.
The Olive Hill High School Class of 1965 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
