Mrs. Erma Jewell Bailey Garvin, age 77, of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at her residence.
Jewell was born on Tuesday, June 5, 1945 in Grahn, Kentucky to the late Willard and Ruby Mosier Bailey.
Jewell was a member of Oakland Christian Holiness Church. She enjoyed working in her flowers, cooking, camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Jewell is preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Samuel “Sam” Hugh Garvin; three brothers, Marvin Bailey, Wayne Bailey and Larry Bailey; one sister, Jearlean Bledsoe; one great grandson, Eliot O’Daniel.
Jewell is survived by three sons, Stan Garvin of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Frank (Amy) Garvin of Morrow, Ohio and Sam Garvin of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three brothers, Estill (Janice) Bailey of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Sam (Kathy) Bailey of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Don (Sarah) Bailey of Paintsville, Kentucky; five sisters, Janice (Gene) Stevens of Grahn, Kentucky, Gail (Pete) Adkins of Bardstown, Kentucky, Carolyn Jordan of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Della (Garland) Knipp of Grahn, Kentucky and Joyce (Mark) Matthews of Grayson, Kentucky; two sister-in-laws, Donna Bailey and Wilma Bailey, along with a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel with Brother CJ James and Brother Clyde Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022 and after 9 a.m. until the service hour Friday, October 21, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Stan Garvin, Frank Garvin, Sam Garvin, Johnathan Garvin, Josh Garvin, Isaac Garvin and Andrew Garvin will serve as pallbearers.
