Harold “Dave” Burchett

1943-2021

Mr. Harold “Dave” Burchett, age 77, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday evening, June 27, 2021, at St. Claire Healthcare Center in Morehead, Kentucky.

He was born July 24, 1943, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Roy Edward “Ted” and Myrtle Dailey Burchett.

Dave proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Olive Hill American Legion Post # 138. He enjoyed playing pool, mowing his yard, was an avid U.K. fan and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four children, Ronnie Burchett, Scotty Burchett, Heather Burchett, and Jason Burchett; one grandchild, Kyle Issac; two brothers, Ray Burchett and James “Jim” Burchett; and one sister, Lois Ramey.

Dave is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Skaggs Burchett; two sons, David Keith Burchett (Anna) and Rick Burchett, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three daughters, Sheila Bradley (Tim) and Tanya Isaac (Alan), all of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Angela Poole (Brian) of Huntington, West Virginia; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and four sisters, Eunice Payne of Corbin, Kentucky, Mary Lewis of Grayson, Kentucky, Phyllis Frazier (J.C.) Of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Linda Evans of Mansfield, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Steve Madden officiating. Burial will follow in the Burchett-Dailey Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with full military honors presented by the Olive Hill American Legion Post #138.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021, and after 9 a.m. at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway U.S. 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
