Jesse Marvin Fyffe, 87, of Webbville went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Jesse was born November 20, 1935 in Keaton, KY a son of the late, Shelby and Dixie Williams Fyffe. In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Phyllis Sue Thompson Fyffe; a brother, Darwin Fyffe; and a sister, Shelby Jean Fyffe Butler.
Jesse worked 31 years with Kentucky State Police serving as a Trooper, License Examiner and Chaplain. He was a co-founder of Cherokee Freewill Baptist Church serving as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher and Bus driver. Started Make Today radiobroadcast for many years on WUGO radio. Founded a boy’s home for wayward children with his wife Phyllis. Purchased Webbville School grounds to build Maranatha Bible Church, and has been the full-time pastor since September 1976. Lead four tours to the Holy Lands with Wilcox World Tours.
Jesse is survived by three children: Sharon (Steve) Owen, Webbville, KY, Kevin (Rosie) Fyffe, Grayson, KY, Becky (Curt) Ferguson of Hitchins, KY, one foster daughter Janet Sparks, Grayson, KY; six grandchildren: Jason Owen, Joshua (Jenny) Owen, Jessica (Clint) Napier, Matthew (Ryann) Fyffe, Carlie (David) Spriggs, Shelby (Evan) Maynard; four great-grandchildren: Caleb Owen, Seth Owen, Caroline Fyffe and baby Maynard; and a host of nieces and nephews and church family who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday April 12, 2023 at the Maranatha Bible Church in Webbville with Bro. Steve Owen, Bro. David Boggs and Bro. Curt Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Maranatha Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 am Wednesday until the service hour at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
