Linvil Ray “Butch” Wallace

1947-2023

Linvil Ray “Butch” Wallace, 75, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at St. Claire Healthcare in Morehead, Kentucky.

He was born May 31, 1947 in Morehead, to the late Auttie Vencil Wallace and Roxie Pearl Hicks Wallace.

Butch had worked at Harold White Lumber, where he was a trim molder operator and he was a United States Army Veteran.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and gardening. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, William Murphy; two brothers, Darryl Wallace and Jimmy Wallace; two sisters, Faye Jones and Joan Proctor; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Logan Wallace; two sons, Roy (Kandace) Wallace of Lancaster, Kentucky and Linvil (Tabitha) Wallace of Olive Hill; two daughters, Susie (Dwight) Perkins of Clearfield, Kentucky and Billie Lang of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; one step son, Jacob Hargett of Olive Hill; one brother, Toby Wallace of Wellston, Ohio; two sisters, Brenda Hardin of Frankfort, Kentucky and Jean Jones of Greenup, Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 10, 2023 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Butch Kelsey officiating.

Burial was in the Upper Flat Fork Cemetery in Carter County.  Full military rites were conducted at the gravesite by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.

Visitation was after 12 noon until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Justin Perkins, Kolton Perkins, Ben Wallace, A. J. Lang, Clifton Wallace and Joshua Wallace.

Honorary casket bearers were Kyle Murphy, Wayne Logan, Dillon Perkins, Austin Wallace, Walker Wallace and Trenton Perkins.

All arrangements for Linvil Ray “Butch” Wallace and family were under the care and direction of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home, 808 Old Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
