Mrs. Kathleen (Kat) Nolen Thornsberry, age 91, of Soldier, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Kentucky.
She was born October 24, 1931 in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William Isacc and Laura Stevens Nolen.
Kathleen was a member of the Soldier Church of God, a homemaker and loved going to church, going to McDonald’s and the Dollar Store with her daughter and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gladie Thornsberry; one daughter, Angela Thornsberry; four brothers, Carl Nolen, Earl Nolen, Cledith Nolen, and Charles Blevins; five sisters, Helen Adkins, Iva Smith, Ada Jones, Rethel Johnson and Bernice Suttles.
She is survived by five sons, Ronnie (Kimberly) Thornsberry of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Wade (Wilma) Thornsberry of Ashland, Kentucky, Vaughn (Joyce) Thornsberry of Soldier, Kentucky, Rodney (Shaun) Thornsberry of Cattlesburg, Kentucky, Tim (Amy) Thornsberry of Soldier, Kentucky; two daughters, Debbie (J.D.) Raybourn, and Pam Lawson, both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 W US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Bryon Hargett and Brother Clifford ‘Tippy’ Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Patton Cemetery in Soldier, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 12 noon, Sunday, January 29, 2023, and until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
