Mary Alice Lambert Whisman, age 90, of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, Tennessee.
She was born Sunday, December 18, 1932, in Elliott County, Kentucky to the late Willie and Edna Hanshaw Lambert.
Mary Alice was of the Baptist Faith. She loved traveling, especially going to visit her relatives in Kentucky in the fall, attending festivals and she loved animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Phillip Woodrow Whisman; three brothers, Roy Lambert, Raymond Lambert, Russell Lambert; one sister, Dazel Johnson : and one son-in-law, Ted Banach.
Mary Alice is survived by one son, Phillip (Heidi) Whisman of Richmond, Virginia; one daughter, Wilma Banach of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Sheila (Nick) Allen and Heather (David) Houbre; eight grandchildren, Amelia, Elizabeth, Logan, Landon, Theo, Roman, Ivan and Gabriel; three brothers, John (Marcella) Lambert of Olive Hill, Kentucky; Bill Lambert of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Lonnie (Barbara) Lambert of Morehead, Kentucky; two sisters, Ottie (Bill) Mitchell of Florida and Betty (Ralph) Harsoe of Westland, Michigan, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Bobby Day and Brother Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Lambert Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2023, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
