Mrs. Mildred Jordan Harris, 81, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020, after a valiant and long-fought battle with numerous illnesses. Her firm belief in God, and a ceaseless devotion to her family, supported her during the struggle.
She was born February 15, 1939, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Covie and Eva “Doll” Brineger Jordan.
She was blessed with a loving family and married her best friend, Carlos Harris on June 9, 1956. Mildred and Carlos raised two sons with patience, discipline, and humility.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carlos; her sons, Terry and Kathy Harris of Greenwood, Indiana, and Greg and Carol Harris of Olive Hill, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Daniel, Mark, Adam, Bradley, and Shannon; her great grandchildren, Carson, Hunter, Lucy, and Charlee; seven brothers, Virgil and Louise Jordan, Charles and Mary Jordan, Johnnie Jordan, Paul and Lillian Jordan, George Bill Jordan, Carlos “Cookie” Jordan, and Larry Joe and Ingrid Jordan, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and three sisters, Lucille and Norman Burton, Louise and Johnny Bailey, and Patricia Ann Cooper, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Delores Christine Jordan, Irene Kiser, and Diana Carter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with her grandson, Reverend Mark Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2020, and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Daniel Harris, Adam Harris, Shannon Harris, Norman Burton, Allen Burton and Jonathan Moreland will serve as pallbearers.
