Mrs. Phyllis Gale McCoy Waugh, age 87, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 11, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Monday, June 29, 1936, in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Charles and Lillian Colley McCoy.
Phyllis was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church. She loved going to church, cooking, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Roy Waugh; one brother, Jack McCoy; one sister, Carol Stone; and one grandson, Justin Stapleton.
Phyllis is survived by one son, Rick Eugene (Paula) Waugh; one daughter, Deborah Gale (Donnie) Stapleton; four grandchildren, Whitney (Shane) Salley, Brice Waugh, Reece Waugh, Trace Waugh; four great grandchilden, Hannah Salley, Willow Stapleton, Lilly Waugh and Sylas Waugh; one sister, Patty (Randy) Hamilton, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Randy Binion and Brother Lowell Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the McFerren Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2023, and after 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2023, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Ricky Waugh, Brice Waugh, Reece Waugh, Tracy Waugh, Tommy Hall and Shane Sally will serve as pallbearers.
