Mrs. Ruth Ann Porter Brown, age 74, of Ashland, Kentucky, formerly of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her
loving family.
She was born August 31, 1947, in Carter County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Roy and Edna Opal Mabry Porter.
Ruth enjoyed cooking and planting flowers. She was always laughing and loved telling jokes and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Brown; six brothers, Billy Wayne Porter, Burl Porter, Jackie D. Porter, Ralph Porter, Harold Porter, Hubert Duke Porter; two sisters, Virginia Swanigan and Edith Fife.
Ruth is survived by three sons, Jeffery Brown and Renee, Mark (Mary) Brown, Keith Brown and Tammy all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Sondra Brown of Ashland, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; ten greatchildren; two brothers, Roy D. (Loretta) Porter of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Danny Ray (Tonda) Porter of Grayson, Kentucky; one sister, Catherine Bradley of Olive Hill, Kentucky along with a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Clifford “Tippy” Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022, and after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Jeffery Brown, Mark Brown, Keith Brown, Roy D. Porter, Danny Ray Porter, Donald Ray Porter will serve as Pallbearers.
Kole Watkins and Matthew Reeves will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
