Velma Catron Stamper, age 98, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Elliott Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born Wednesday, November 4, 1925, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late George and Pearl Mabry Catron.
Velma was a member of Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church and loved going to church services. She enjoyed gardening; working in her flowers; spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Jacob and special niece, Carolyn Sue Thomas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, George Edward Stamper; five brothers, Willard Catron, Ray Catron, Austin Catron, Alvin Catron, Garner Catron; four sisters, Betty Jo Catron, Edith Sparks, Ada Bond and Etta Florence Jones.
Velma is survived by two sons, Ronnie (Donna) Stamper, Rex (Vicky) Stamper all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one grandson, Jacob Stamper; one sister Virginia Caudill of Mansfield, Ohio, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Kentucky, at Catron Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky, with Brother J.C. Bond officiating.
