Bethalee Sparks McGlone


Bethalee Sparks McGlone, age 62, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at her residence.

She was born Wednesday, January 4, 1961, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late Joseph and Emma Howard Sparks.

Beth enjoyed riding four wheelers, going to yard sales, gummy bears and fountain drinks, watching Christmas movies with her daughter every Christmas Season and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaugher, Alexis Grace McGlone; four brothers, Chuck Sparks, Bob Sparks, Bud Sparks and Dean Sparks; three sisters, Rosie Grigson, Neevie McGlone, and Beverlee McGlone; special friend, Christine Bertram.

Beth is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, JR McGlone; two sons, Bear (Celia) McGlone, Joe (Polly) McGlone, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Crystal (Brandon) Jordan of Olive Hill, Kentucky; eight grandchilden, Josie McGlone, Wyatt McGlone, Harley McGlone, Lacey Jordan, Addy Jordan, Waylon Jordan, Brantlee Jordan, Mikie Chapin and Hannah Meadows; two brothers, Tom (Judy) Sparks of Vanceburg, Kentucky and Vernon (Sarah) Sparks Olive Hill, Kentucky; two sisters, Freda (Daniel) Roe of Richmond, Kentucky and Carol McGlone of Olive Hill, Kentucky; special friends, Bonnie Middleton and Winnie Meadows, along with many nephews, nieces, family and friends whom she loved very much.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Darrell Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Alexis Grace McGlone Cemetery, on Big Run.

Friends may visit after from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2023, and after 9 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023,until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.

Brandon Jordan, Mikie Chapin, Wyatt McGlone, Daivd Willoughby, Kevin McGlone, Landon McGlone and Logan Willoughby will serve as pallbearers.

Harley McGlone, Lacey Jordan and Josie McGlone will serve as honorary pallbearers.
