Mrs. Vivien Layne Rainbolt, age 95, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Kingsbrook Life Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
She was born Tuesday, May 8, 1928, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late Vasco and Nannie Hurley Layne.
She enjoyed reading, writing songs and poetry and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Forrest D. Rainbolt; six brothers, David Layne, Jack Layne, Phillip Layne, Orbey Layne, Bobby Layne and Vasco “Skip” Layne; three sisters, Patricia Layne, Peggy Layne and Edna “Jeanne” Molton.
Vivien is survived by one daughter, Denise Mitchell Reynolds of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one brother, Roger (Dottie) Layne of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two sisters, Linda Maggard of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Joyce Irland of Grayson, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Linda Layne of Paintsville, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Friday, November 17, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Tim Molton and Brother Gary Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 11 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2023, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Roger Layne, Bryan Irland, Tim Molton, Cameron Molton, Scott Molton, George Molton and Ralph Lowe will serve as pallbearers.
