Mr. Billy Joe Puckett, age 54, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at St Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.
He was born Sunday, December 17, 1967 in Elliott County to Wilma Cole Puckett and the late Clayton Puckett.
Billy was a faithful member of the Henderson Branch Christian Holiness church. He enjoyed playing with his grandbabies, riding horses, boat riding, and loved classic cars.
Along with his father, he is preceded in death by one brother in law, Wayne Reeves along with his Mamaw Cole.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of thirty seven years, Rebecca Maddix Puckett; one son, Derek Puckett (James Kissinger) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two daughters, Rosanne Oney (Clyde) Carpenter of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Kavanna Conn (Berman Skaggs) of Grayson, Kentucky; three brothers, Tony (Lisa) Puckett of Solider, Kentucky, Darrell (Helen) Puckett of Soldier, Kentucky, and Clayton (Sherry) Howard Puckett of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one sister, Anna Reeves of Solider Kentucky, and his niece, Melissa Holbrook, who he thought of as a sister. Billy also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Alexis Oney, Brett Oney, Jazmine Barker, Lamyn Puckett, Holly Easterling, Braydon Conn, and Paislee Carpenter; one great-grandson, Braylon Hamm, and a host of many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brothers John Lewis, Darrell Puckett, and Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Puckett Family Cemetery on Roseberry Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Globe Funeral Chapel, Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Derek Puckett, Clyde Carpenter, Darrell Puckett, Tony Puckett, Greg Hall, Nathan Puckett, and James Middleton will serve as Pallbearers. Brett Oney, Lamyn Puckett, Braydon Conn, Braylon Hamm, and Mitchell Layne will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
